As a child I have always wondered why Eve had to eat the fruit from the forbidden tree. Among all the other fruits in the garden that she could have eaten from, she just had to eat from the one they were instructed not to eat from. I mean she knew better, Adam knew better but despite it all they allowed the devil to question God and change their minds. That was the fall of humanity.

As much as I blame Eve for not controlling her urges, I have realized that I too have an Eve in me, we all do. The one that knows better and doesn’t do better. Like you know if you keep eating all the unhealthy food you lay hands on you will keep gaining weight but you keep eating it anyway. You know that guy isn’t good for you, but you keep going back to him anyway. You know what drinking did to your family, but regardless you do it anyway. The list goes on and on. We all have an Adam and Eve in us, because we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God.

Nevertheless, thank God for Jesus. He had a plan to save the world. We don’t have to be confined by our sins, bad habits and decisions anymore. We can know better and can do better. He who knew no sin took on sin so that we don’t have to deal with it anymore. He took on lust, greed,jealousy,disease etc. So that we don’t have to live with it.He bore the curse for us and in him we can live boldly knowing that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Let us know better and do better.
